Recent alumni achievements

Aadeel Akhtar
Aadeel Akhtar (MS Computer Science graduate, 2008) has been accepted in the prestigious Medical Scholars Program (MD/PhD) of the University of Illinois- Urbana Champaign. After completing a BS in Biology and a minor in Computer Science, Aadeel completed the Master's degree in Computer Science at Loyola University Chicago. He then received an IGERT Fellowship in Neuroengineering and performed research in brain-machine interfaces for two years at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. Congratulations Aadeel!

Emily Brand
Graduate student Emily Brand was featured on the Google Blog for her work in Google's Summer of Code (2010). Google Summer of Code is a global program that offers student developers stipends to write code for various open source software projects. Emily's project expanded on the project QueryPath, a PHP library for manipulating XML and HTML. It is designed to work not only with local files, but also with web services and database resources.

Ryan Cuprak
Loyola alumnus Ryan Cuprak (BS computer science and biology, 2001) coauthored the NetBeans IDE Programmer Certified Expert Exam Guide, which was published by McGraw-Hill Professional in July 2010. Ryan is an e-formulation analyst at Enginuity PLM and has presided over the Connecticut Java Users Group since 2003. Further information about the book can be found at Amazon.
